Scopely was purchased by Savvy Games Group for $4.9 billion a week before the launch of the app. Monopoly Go is Scopely’s third collaboration with Hasbro, after Yahtzee With Buddies and Scrabble Go were released in 20. Hasbro’s Franchise Brands, which includes Monopoly, make several billion dollars annually and the board game has had over 300 variants since its creation. Holding company Hasbro has owned the rights to Monopoly products since it bought Parker Brothers, the makers, in 1991.
